Shaping The Future
As a resident of Mount Vernon for over 40 years, I’ve been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to successfully raise a family and expand my construction and development business. This city has given me more than I could have ever imagined, and I’m proud to call Mount Vernon my home.
Since 2020, we have all been exposed to an overabundance increase in taxes. Mount Vernon’s residents pay the highest taxes per capita within Westchester County. Yet, while we pay the most, we receive the least. As a result, our services are continuously declining. I cannot watch the city I love to continue the race to the bottom. It’s time to make changes because “WE are ALL” suffering and that’s why I’m running for City Council.
Mount Vernon was once known as “the city that believes.” We believed the city would turn around and change for the better. But, beliefs, hopes, and wishes will not uplift the city. Hard work will.
I am day ONE ready and prepared to work together with others to rebuild and revitalize the economy, increase safety, and repair and replenish all broken systems and lines of communication throughout the city. There are no empty promises here. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
André Wallace for City Council
I have very encouraging news to share about my bid to become Mount Vernon’s next Mayor: For the second straight time, I was the most-favored candidate in a survey of Democratic voters conducted by a veteran pollster. The results emerged just after we filed more than triple the number of petition signatures needed to be on the ballot! To all those who signed – and to the team members who fanned out across Mount Vernon to meet them – I’m very grateful. But we all know there’s only one poll that counts, and the June 25 primage is a long way off. The time to bring Honesty, Transparency and Vision to City Hall is long past. Please help me forge in a new direction for the City of Mount Vernon.
